Reveals

Letter from Penny

  • The book, The Advancement of Learning, is written by Francis Bacon. Bacon's cipher can be used to solve the code hidden in the bolded letters at the top of this document. The hidden message begins after "France is:" which is another hint indicating that the cipher is by Francis Bacon.
  • For the cipher, presume every bolded letter represents a B, and every other letter represents an A, in the sentences that read "the prettiest at dawn. This morning I woke up to the sound of bicycle bells ringing and the smell of fresh bread."
  • When solved, the cipher reads: "wwwpennyinpariscom". This URL leads to Penny's Paris travel blog. Look for any hidden elements within the blog content.
  • Calling the phone number at the bottom of the blog will lead to a voicemail message. Some sentences in the voicemail are spoken in French. They can be translated to say: "I am finally free. I killed my husband and my son, both of them, it was me. And I regret nothing." "Goodbye, my friend."
  • As the flextangle rotates, the following phrases are revealed: "WHILE I / SUFFER / SHE CIRCLES / OVERHEAD".

Penny's Painting

  • The markings on Penny's painting are Morse code.
  • The painting should be turned to the right 90 degrees. The code in the woman's hair should be read first, from top to bottom and left to right, followed by the code on the woman's shoulder.
  • When decoded, the painting reads: "from my hurdles man and child".
  • When put together, the paintings can be viewed as one larger picture. The messages, too, string together to become one long sentiment.
