Episode 5

Hints

Aaron de Vaille Letter

  • In this letter, Aaron announces a new beginning. He reveals which victim he chose from JWJ's list - his choice reveals his own independent ideals, which differ from the Dragon Swan.

Dragon Swan Disciple List

  • This is a document that communicates the Dragon Swan cult's mission statement and lists the current 27 disciples. Notice that Aaron's name is not on the list. Each disciple's approximate location can be marked on your map from Episode 1.

John William James Letter

  • Throughout this letter, JWJ quotes several lines from the Latin hymn Dies Irae. He laments Aaron's disobedience, but is still convinced of his status as a "king among gods".

Talaria Letter

  • A list of disclaimers for the courier service Talaria, which includes the same changes and additions from the previous episode.

Wolf Print

  • This print depicts a wolf surrounded by different symbols. Notice the wolf's missing eye, which relates to an object you received in the previous episode. This print will serve as a key for a future puzzle - the key can be cracked with this hint from Aaron's letter from Episode 4: "My hands work at the direction of my great aesthetic eye."

Reveals

John William James Letter

  • The first Latin phrase in this letter is from Lacrimosa, a specific part of the Dies Irae hymn. "Lacrimosa", which means "tearful", can be searched on Whispers from Theodorus to reveal a post. The post password is "tearful".

Silver Necklace

  • The charm on this necklace depicts the Golden Spiral, a compositional tool used to measure balance and ratio. The shape occurs frequently in nature and conveys a sense of beauty. The Golden Ratio is 1.618 and JWJ was patient #1618.

Wolf Print

  • The plastic eye from Episode 4 can be placed where the wolf's missing eye should be on the print - this eye serves as the starting point for the key. The alphabet is mapped onto the bordering symbols, starting with the plastic eye = A, and working clockwise.
