1
Your name is Isaac. You are a mercenary that has been hired by Logitech Inc. to go into one of their labs and take care of the situation there. You are there along with seven other mercenaries: Hank, Joe, Frank, Stone, Steve, Phil, and Josh. None of you want to know each other's last name. It is considered to be unprofessional in your business. The helicopter you are in lands on the rooftop of the lab and Mr. Langstrom, the guy who hired you approaches. Probably for a briefing.
"Alright, gentlemen," Langstrom says. "Your mission is to destroy a highly dangerous entity called the Reanimator. It was supposed to be a cure for every problem humanity ever had. It is a symbiotic organism that attaches itself to the host's brain and feeds on a portion of their blood and in return, it reanimates the dead cells within the body. We had one of those in our Subject Zero, but the Reanimator became violent. It wanted more blood but didn't want to risk killing its host, so it did something unexpected and caused a mutation. It made Subject Zero powerful enough to break out of his containment and go on a killing spree. He fed on everyone he found and everyone he fed on was contaminated with a Reanimator. So the corpses soon woke up and were under the control of a Reanimator as well. Roaming the halls, looking for meals."
"Did they mutate as well?" Steve asks.
"No. Subject Zero's Reanimator is the only that was put in a situation where his host was insufficient to meet its needs. It is the only one that has gone beyond humanity."
"What are the rules of engagement?" you ask.
"Shoot on sight. I recommend you never travel alone, and aim for the enemies' heads. It is useless to try to kill the hosts, you'll have to kill the Reanimators pulling their strings. Additionally, we kept a weapon in Subject Zero's cell that should destroy all Reanimators in the vicinity."
After the briefing, the door opens. You grab your gear and head out of the helicopter.
As the assigned team leader, Hank signals us to approach him.
"You heard the man. Shoot on sight, travel with a partner, and aim for the head. Stone, you're with me. Phil, you take Joe, Steve is with Josh, and Isaac, you're going with Frank."
You've never really liked Frank, but you try to keep this on a professional level. If you are supposed to work with him, you'll do that. It's not like they're asking you to like him.
"Phil and Joe, you stay here and safeguard the chopper. We'll need to have a clear path out of here if the situation proves to be tougher than we believed. Steve and Josh, you go to the ground floor and find that weapon. Isaac and Frank, you go scout the area for survivors. And Stone, we're gonna go find that monster."
2
You attempt to stand still, hoping that the Behemoth doesn't notice you. After he is finished with Frank, however, he turns around and does the same to you.
3
Although you manage to pinpoint exactly where Subject Zero's weakness is, he also manages to ambush and kill you.
4
You move several big and heavy items in the room in the way of the door, just in time to block Subject Zero's strike. You see that you might have a few moments before Subject Zero breaks through.
5
You might have escaped his charge through the wall, but as soon as he sees you running, he catches you.
6
You log in to the computer and open the file named "Chief Researcher's Journal". The file says:
"The subject's genetic structure has increased rapidly over the last couple of days. To think, a week ago, half of his head was missing and he was at least two meters smaller. Why Mr. Garris has taken such an interest in this person is unknown, but he has been willing to spend a large portion of our funds in restoring him to life. He claims that it is the first step toward immortality, but since we are well on our way with the Reanimator project, I don't see what this would affect. However, last night I found him in this room, talking to the Behemoth. He said he apologized for being unable to bring him back in a human condition but he claims to be doing what he can. Finally, he addressed the subject as his son before I made my presence clear. I notified him that I will be forced to report this and he will most likely lose his job. The fate of the Behemoth, however, is uncertain. I find it likely that the board will want to continue to experiment with it as so much money has already been spent on it. This morning, I saw Garris gathering his things and leaving. He looked at me with a smile on his face. Hmm... some kind of an alarm is going off. It's probably just a drill."
7
You go downstairs. You are fortunate to have decided to run, for you hear Subject Zero getting up again. You know he'll catch your scent and you're going to have to do something.
9
You arrive downstairs, and find the zombie horde that you closed away from you again. They see you and even though you try to run away, they follow you and kill you.
10
You decide to crawl farther into the vent before throwing the grenade at the Behemoth. The grenade finishes him off, but the explosion occurs close enough to you to kill you as well.
11
Even though you learn exactly where Subject Zero's Reanimator is located, he bursts through the door and kills you before you even aim your gun at him.
12
You shoot through Subject Zero's chest, where the Reanimator has positioned itself and the brain as it is the most protected area of the body due to the ribs. Subject Zero gives an agonizing scream and falls down dead. You see him slowly disintegrating. You are on the third floor, but the weapon needed to kill the Reanimators is on the first floor. But so is the Behemoth.
13
Hoping that whatever is behind the closet dies because of bullets, you shoot the closet, then as you open it, you find out that it was empty. Just a waste of bullets. But then you hear heavy steps approaching.
You stay up to a wall and you hear the Behemoth not too far away. He is approaching, but he is walking so he most likely doesn't know you are there. Across the room, you see an open vent, but crawling into it might make too much noise.
14
You take a look around and find files on Subject Zero. You quickly go through the files and on the first page, you see that his heart is located in his right shoulder.
15
All of you go to attend the mission you have been assigned to. You take the stairs and stop at the first floor. After a short while, Frank says, "I don't hear nothing. Think we should waste time on this floor or continue down?"
Just because Frank doesn't want to, you are seriously considering exploring this floor. If there are survivors, they probably wouldn't make much noise in a building infested with man-eating monsters. But he is right, you should pick carefully what you do.
16
You kill the second zombie with ease. Now, Subject Zero is close by and you'll have to act carefully.
17
You place explosives on the stairs before you and Frank run down. You find cover and the stairs explode, completely severing the path between you and the zombies. Unfortunately, it also separates you from the helicopter. Luckily, there should be an elevator somewhere. But your job is not done.
You and Frank explore the floor you are currently on. As you are looking into the rooms, you hear Josh on the radio.
"We're on the ground floor but the place is swarming with the Reanimated! Oh, shit. What is tha-..."
After that, you hear nothing but static. You hear Hank calling "Josh! Josh! Steve! Can you read me?!?"
"They're dead. They must have met Subject Zero," you say.
"Isaac, we saw Subject Zero just a few minutes ago. Whatever they encountered, it's something else."
"That must be what the nutcase was talking about," Frank says.
"What? What did you find out?" Hank asks.
"Nothing much. We found a guy that said there were worse things in here than Subject Zero."
"Where is this man? I'd like to talk to him," Hank tells you.
"I'm sorry, commander. He took his own life."
"I see. Well, carry on. Try to gather more info on this unknown enemy. We can't fight what we don't understand."
"Roger that."
18
In an attempt to get away from the Behemoth without him realizing you're even there, you back away and head for the storage.
19
Heroic Ending
You take the grenade from Hank's vest and throw it into the vent. You and Hank then run as far away as possible before the grenade explodes, killing the Behemoth and causing a large portion of the wall to collapse onto him. You and Hank now move on to Subject Zero's lab. There, you find a canister next to a dead and heavily mutated carcass of a man with the nametag "Larry Garris". Garris, that's the name from the file.
Hank points at Garris's dead body and says, "Looks like someone tried to get here."
"No. This is the guy who was behind all this. That's what this was about. He wanted to restore his credibility. If he saved the city from a potential doomsday scenario, he would become honored among the scientific ranks. I found a file that included him earlier. He was the Behemoth's father, in every sense of the word. He was the father to the human that was to become the Behemoth, and he was behind mutating his son into it. He was fired, and he wanted to continue his research. This was all about the Behemoth, not Subject Zero," you say as the plot unravels before your eyes.
"Well, whatever caused this, I'm glad it's over. Mission complete."
20
With a few extra minutes until Subject Zero finds you, you decide to go through the files on him and try to find some advantage. As you go through the files, you discover that the Reanimator moved the brain down during the mutation, putting it in the most protective area of the body. You hear Subject Zero approach.
21
As you walk toward the bionic weapon, you hear heavy footsteps in front of you. Due to the power outage, everything is barely visible, so the Behemoth most likely can't see you, as you can't see him. But make no mistake, the giant man-eating monster is only a few yards in front of you.
22
You go upstairs. You are fortunate to have decided to run, for you hear Subject Zero getting up again. You know he'll catch your scent and you're going to have to do something.
24
You aim for the door to the storage, not far from here, and hope that the Behemoth will follow the sound and not realize where you actually are. I hope you have enough ammo.
25
Why would you do this when you have perfectly good weapons? The zombies grab you as you burst past them and kill you.
26
You shoot his stomach but it is not where Subject Zero's Reanimator is located and so he easily kills you.
27
Frank calls you and you decide to see what's going on. However, the zombie you didn't kill earlier has alerted more to your presence and you are ambushed.
28
You decide not to go for the weapon on your own and instead you try to find Hank. The radio is off due to the power outage, so the only thing you can do is look, and hope that you find him before the Behemoth finds you.
29
As the elevator goes toward the first floor, the Behemoth charges through the elevator door on the third floor and breaks through it. The Behemoth lands on the elevator, separating it from the wire and crashing it into the ground.
30
You shoot Subject Zero's groin. Whereas that would cause immense pain to normal humans, it does virtually nothing to Subject Zero and he kills you.
31
Chuck Norris Ending
You run up to the roaring Behemoth and stab the knife up into his brain, killing him and the Reanimator controlling him. You then go into the cell and activate the bionic weapon, killing all the Reanimators.
32
You run back to go away from where the Behemoth is. You keep running and see the exit, just a few yards away.
33
No matter how mentally prepared you are, as soon as Subject Zero shatters everything you have used to block the door, all of your bullets are useless. Subject Zero kills you.
34
You crawl along the vent and reach the end, which is in the storage. There, you see Hank. He asks you what is going on, but you see the Behemoth closing in on you.
35
As you begin to open the door, you hear a sound coming from the other side. You look through a small hole and see a large horde of zombies packed in that room.
36
You run back toward the storage, and you run into Hank. He asks you what is going on. The Behemoth is closing in...
37
You read the files and uncover various different things on Subject Zero, including how to kill him. However, as you attempt to leave, Subject Zero reanimates himself and kills you.
38
As the Behemoth struggles to see, you manage to jump away from the attack without him hitting you. The Behemoth tries to rub his eyes, but his large rough fingers only make it worse. He can, however, see you with one eye and he roars at you.
39
Deciding that it is one of the Reanimated, you shoot the zombie directly in the head. That's less ammo for you though. But you hear Frank calling you.
40
As you try to explain the situation to Hank, the Behemoth reaches the end of the vent and kills you both.
42
You attempt to login to the computer but it requires a password. You take a look at the hint and it says:
"The nickname we had given the subject. P.S.: It means a big monster."
There are several words that pop up in your mind.
43
In a bold move, you have challenged the Behemoth to a fight. The Behemoth charges at you.
44
You take the elevator to the 4th floor, which is the floor that had a giant zombie horde on it. They fill up the elevator as soon as the doors open and eat you.
45
You make a break for the elevator and luckily, the Behemoth is too busy eating Frank to notice you. It was about time he was useful. He is, however, quick to finish Frank and then he turns around. You get into the elevator, and you must quickly select a floor to go to.
46
You and Hank go into the vent to escape the Behemoth, but he quickly catches you and kills you both.
47
You put your ear to the ground and feel a vibration every now and then. That must be the Behemoth's footsteps, and he's closing in on you.
48
You wait and hope that something happens that lures the Behemoth's attention away. This is not the case, however, and the last thing you see is his gaze.
49
You enter the elevator and press the button to go to the fifth floor. The power is out, however, and the elevator isn't functional. Before you can do anything, you are attacked by Subject Zero.
50
In a hurry, you enter the room in front of you, not realizing that it is filled with zombies that drag you in and kill you.
51
You sit in a tub, hoping that Subject Zero doesn't notice you. Sooner or later though, he finds and devours you.
52
You decide that you'll never truly be safe until you successfully end the Reanimators, and that means getting that weapon. If the Behemoth goes where you think he will, you should be able to get to the bionic weapon without even running into him.
You walk toward Subject Zero's cell, but in front of you, you hear heavy footsteps. The Behemoth has turned around and is now facing your direction. The door to Subject Zero's cell is close by, but Behemoth has already proven to be faster than you.
53
You try to slash the Behemoth, but the knife breaks on his thick hide and he kills you.
54
You realize you are traveling much faster than the Behemoth is and so you crawl toward the other end of the vent. You drop out in an unknown room.
55
You draw your gun and aim it at the barricaded door, moments before Subject Zero smashes it. You have a clear shot at his shoulder.
56
You try to shoot the zombie horde running toward you, but you don't have enough time nor ammunition. The zombies kill you.
58
As soon as Subject Zero breaks through the door, you shoot him, but the bullets do not affect him and he kills you.
59
As soon as you leave the room, you notice the Behemoth at the opposite end of the corridor. No matter where you go, he charges at you and kills you within seconds.
60
While you manage to slice one zombie, the other bites you. You kill that zombie, but soon you become one of them.
61
You find a room with heavy metal doors that have been ripped apart. You two take a look at one another and enter the room. You find large empty open caskets along with a lot of blood on the floor. After looking around, Frank says, "What the hell happened here?"
"They were keeping something here."
"Subject Zero?"
"No. When they contained him, he was human, it wasn't until he mutated that he escaped. Besides, his cell is supposedly on the ground floor and I don't see the Reanimator weapon in here."
"Then what do you think it was?"
"What do I think? I think the lab was working on more than they cared to reveal. And I think Subject Zero has contaminated it with a Reanimator, and I think it killed Josh and Steve."
"Check the computers. Maybe they have some info on the freak."
63
You look for Hank in the storage as it seemed to be a good place to hide and he would probably go there if he wanted to hide from the Behemoth. As you are in the storage, you hear rapid heavy footsteps approaching from beyond the wall.
64
Sacrificial Ending
You run as fast as you can toward Subject Zero's room and the Behemoth runs as fast as he can toward you. He misses you and you manage to get in. However, the Behemoth charges at you again and shatters almost every bone in your body. In a final attempt, you manage to activate the bionic weapon before you die.
66
You are on the ground floor, and somewhere on that floor, is Hank, the bionic weapon, and the Behemoth.
67
You hide in a nearby crate in order to make sure you get to your hiding place in time. However, as soon as the Behemoth has entered the room, he smashes everything. The crate is crushed and you with it.
68
You manage to kill a few of them with the knife, but there are too many to kill with melee and they overpower you.
69
The door opens on the second floor and you see Subject Zero standing a few inches away from you. He jumps into the elevator with you and eats you alive.
71
You go back into the vent as the Behemoth charges at Hank. However, he catches up with you as he has already made the path wide enough for him.
72
To avoid feeling the pain Frank did, you kill yourself. No matter what the Behemoth does to you, you don't feel a thing.
75
Bullets don't harm the Behemoth, so waiting for a clear shot is useless. He kills you as you attempt to shoot him.
76
You arrive on the roof and find the helicopter there. However, the mercenaries there refuse to leave without the others.
77
You run down the stairs and the Behemoth doesn't hear anything as he is busy feeding on Frank. When you get downstairs, however, you see Subject Zero waiting for you. He immediately notices you and kills you.
78
As you can easily outrun the Reanimated person, you leave the room.
79
You are close to the helicopter, but you know they would never leave Hank. You'll have to find a way to get down securely, but using the helicopter to get to a floor you don't know the status of could be risky. Anything could be behind those doors once they open, and the floor you are currently on is the only one you know is secure.
80
You show Frank what you saw in the Chief Researcher's journal and after he reads it he says, "The Behemoth is the owner's son?"
"That's not all. That alarm he's talking about in the end, I think it's when Subject Zero broke free. I think Mr. Garris personally mutated him, or gave him the capability to mutate."
"Why? Why would he unleash all this chaos? Because they fired him?"
"No. I don't think so. There has to be some motive we don't understand yet."
"We should find the others quickly."
"Right. Let's take the elevator. Hank's at ground floor, I believe."
Frank nods and you leave the room.
You leave the room, but a large hulking beast charges at Frank, grabs him, and runs him into a wall. It has to be the Behemoth. He's feeding on Frank and hasn't noticed you yet. You see the elevator on the other end of the corridor, but the stairs are just a few steps away. You don't know how advanced his hearing is, but his speed is clearly far above yours.
81
You stand firm on your feet and prepare your gun for combat. Subject Zero comes down from the stairs, and no matter how often you shoot its head, it is ineffective. Subject Zero kills you.
82
You try to crush the Behemoth with the elevator, but he punches through the bottom of it and kills you.
83
You find a good place to hide and stay there. However, you seem to have forgotten that it is the scent Subject Zero is following and as such, he quickly finds and kills you.
84
You pick up the radio and say, "Hank, what's the situation on floors one, two, and three?"
After a short while, Hank responds, "Subject Zero chased me all the way up to the third floor, but the stairs were blocked. Luckily, I managed to delay him with a flash grenade and escape."
"Where's Stone?"
"Dead. A freak burst out of the elevator doors and killed him."
"That's the Behemoth. He killed Frank as well."
"Well, get down to the second floor. I'll meet you there."
"Got it."
85
Figuring you can just shoot his shoulder again and escape again, you wait for him to come. However, he is turning his heart away from you this time and so, none of your bullets make it there. With no way to stop him, you are killed by Subject Zero.
86
You find a place to hide, but you hear Subject Zero looking for you. It's only a matter of time before he finds you.
87
You sneak past the Behemoth and head for the bionic weapon. It is too late for Hank now anyway. You hear the loud footsteps behind you, and you turn around. You see the Behemoth close by, and you know he sees you. The door to the cell is close by.
88
You find files on Subject Zero, but before you can explore the files properly, Subject Zero shatters the door and eats you alive.
89
You step out of the elevator but don't see Hank anywhere. You pick up the radio and say, "Hank. I'm at the second floor. Where are you?"
"Stay away from there. Subject Zero is..."
Nothing. The power cuts out. You had heard the backup generator had been activated for the mission, but it has to be empty now. You walk closer into the room when you hear a noise coming from the stairs to the third floor.
90
You run down the stairs and the Behemoth doesn't hear anything as he is busy feeding on Frank. When you get downstairs, however, you see Subject Zero waiting for you. He immediately notices you and kills you.
91
You enter the next room and see the room crawling with Reanimated people. They all look at you and start running toward you and Frank.
92
Chuck Norris Ending
As you realize it is his thick skin that makes him bulletproof, you pick up your gun and shoot the Behemoth in his mouth and, through there, into his brain. The Behemoth falls down dead and you activate the bionic weapon, destroying all the Reanimators.
93
You leave the room and find yourself in a corridor close by.
94
You look around and see a room close by with the door open. It could be a good opportunity as you won't be forced to open a door and therefore make a noise.
96
You try to talk to the person approaching you, but he jumps at you and bites you. Even though you manage to kill him, you soon become one of them.
97
You and Frank walk around the floor, checking every room for survivors. You enter a room and see someone sitting in the corner. The person stands up and approaches you, making a violent groan as it struggles to get to you.
99
Taking no unnecessary chances, you take the files and run away. You can now go upstairs or downstairs.
100
In an attempt to turn the hunter into the prey, you decide to go after the Behemoth and try to kill him before he does the same to you.
101
Selfish Ending
You throw the grenade out of the vent and crawl as far into it as possible. The explosion kills the Behemoth as well as the remains of Hank. You return from the vent, get into Subject Zero's cell, find the bionic weapon, and use it to kill off the Reanimators.
102
You quickly open the door as you are in a hurry, but you don't realize that there is a large group of zombies in there. They drag you into the fray immediately and devour you.
103
In order to waste no ammo on this single zombie, you pick up your knife and take his head clean off. You hear Frank calling you.
104
You run into the room to the left and luckily find it empty. You look around and you know that Subject Zero will find you eventually, his smelling systems are strong enough to detect you. You look around and you better prepare for fighting him.
105
You try to get to the stairs making as little noise as possible, however, the Behemoth doesn't waste much time with his meal and soon turns around and sees you. He charges at you and brutally kills you.
106
You read the files and uncover where Subject Zero's Reanimator is. However, before you can drop the files and draw your gun, Subject Zero has killed you.
108
As you wait until the Behemoth is finished with Hank, he clearly knows you are there and he does the same to you.
109
You and Hank go into the vent to escape the Behemoth, but he quickly catches you and kills you both.
110
You go upstairs and wait there. You hear a loud footstep approach, but it moves away from the stairs and charges at something. You then hear Hank scream. The Behemoth must have got him.
111
You keep on running and leave Hank to be devoured by the Behemoth. However, he quickly moves on to you and catches up with you before you can get far.
112
The first bullet was a nice idea, but the second one is useless. The Behemoth hits you.
113
You walk into the fifth floor and see a couple of zombies ahead.
114
You try to shoot the Behemoth, but bullets are ineffective against him. He charges at you next and killed you even more brutally than he killed Frank.
115
You have no idea where the Behemoth could be and so you walk in circles until you eventually come across the Behemoth, which kills you.
116
You shoot directly through Subject Zero's heart and he falls down motionless in front of you. You know that the files are useful but you don't know whether Subject Zero will stay dead. After all, the Reanimator wasn't in his heart and as was said in the briefing, it is useless to kill the host.
117
You shoot the Behemoth in the eye. He is still headed toward you, but is most likely mildly disoriented.
118
You try to get to the elevator making as little noise as possible, however, Behemoth doesn't take long in eating up Frank so he soon turns his attention toward you.
119
Coward Ending
You run toward the exit and try to get as far away from the lab as possible. Dealing with the zombie problem isn't worth dying for.
120
Hank holsters his gun and smiles. "Good. I don't have time to deal with troublemakers."
All of you go to attend the mission you have been assigned to. You take the stairs and stop at the first floor. After a short while, Frank says, "I don't hear nothing. Think we should waste time on this floor or continue down?"
Just because Frank doesn't want to, you are seriously considering exploring this floor. If there are survivors, they probably wouldn't be making much noise in a building infested with man-eating monsters. But he is right, you should pick carefully what you do.
122
You place explosives on the stairs before you and Frank run down. You find cover and the stairs explode, completely severing the path between you and the zombies. Unfortunately, it also separates you from the helicopter. Luckily, there should be an elevator somewhere. But your job is not done.
You and Frank explore the floor you are currently on. As you are looking into the rooms, you hear Josh on the radio.
"We're on the ground floor but the place is swimming with the Reanimated!
"More creeps than just Subject Zero?" Frank asks.
"I'm afraid so. Try to find out more on these new monstrosities," Hank tells you.
"Roger that."
123
You run into the room to the right and find two zombies there. It could be risky to shoot them as that creates a lot of noise, but you don't know if you can kill two zombies with the knife.
124
Where to shoot?
125
After taking care of that zombie, you go to see what the fuss is with Frank. You enter the room he is in and you see a person there, dirty as hell.
The person looks at you and says, "No, go away, they can smell you, they can taste you!"
Frank looks at you and whispers, "He's a nut."
You ignore Frank and say, "Who's they? The Reanimated people?"
"Not just them. Not anymore. They found other things, worse things."
"What are you talking about?"
"I can't take it any longer! They are everywhere! The Behemoth is out!"
The person grabs Frank's gun and shoots himself through the head. You look at Frank and say, "What was he talking about? Subject Zero?"
"I don't know. But it sounds like there are things even worse than they are out there."
"Yeah, we better keep our eyes and ears open."
126
As the elevator heads toward the top, you hear the Behemoth charge through the elevator doors on the third floor and crash through them. Moments later, you hear him land on the bottom of the elevator. You consider taking the elevator down to the first floor and hit him with it, but he seems to be tougher than the elevator, so it is probably not a good idea.
127
You open the closet but there is nothing there. You hear heavy steps approaching.
You stay up to a wall and you hear the Behemoth not too far away. He is approaching, but he is walking so he most likely doesn't know you are there. Across the room, you see an open vent, but crawling into it might make too much noise.
128
You crawl into the vent and go farther and farther. When you think you're clear, the wall breaks close by and the Behemoth starts to follow you. The vent is too small to fit him, but with his brute strength, he makes it fit and breaks it in order to follow you. This, however, seems to be a difficult process for him and you seem to have an advantage here.
130
You shoot the zombies and kill them. That means less ammo, but you doubt the knife would have done much good against that many zombies.
131
Behind you is an open vent. You had heard Subject Zero used those to travel in, but as he is no longer around they should be safe for you to use. You crawl further into the vent and hear the wall to the storage crack. Behemoth smashes everything in the storage but then there is silence. When you start to think he is gone, he charges at the vent and tries to climb through it. Even though he is too big to fit, he forces himself to fit as he uses his brute strength to tear the vent open in order to follow you.
133
You enter the room across the one with the closed door and see a closed closet. Ignoring it is too dangerous.
134
