1
You approach the stunning doors of a hotel beaming with life and happiness. A beautiful woman stands at the door with her arm stretched out toward you. Through her alcohol-stenched breath, she yells to you eagerly.
"Well, what are you waiting for?! Aren't you ready to enter Hotel California? Why, it's the place to be!"
2
You sit there patiently and, eventually, three people enter the room. They remove the bag from your head and your eyes are pleased to see three beautiful women standing before you.
They stare at you for a while and you notice quite a few intriguing details in them. They are all deemed as what is "perfect" by the women magazines you've seen and each one is drowned in all the high fashion trends of the time.
You look up at their eyes and see they appear blank, empty, almost as though they really aren't there. They untie you and drag you through a metal door to a large garden blooming with life. A door at the end opens straight to your car, it seems as though they are leading you out of Hotel California.
They stand at the other end and reach out their hands. Together, they say, "We have all you can imagine - love, fame, and fortune beyond compare. Come with us and people will envy you for the rest of your life. You'll have everything you could possibly want. Or, leave back to your old boring life, the choice is yours."
3
I agree, that's way too scary for my feeble little heart. Let's back away as far as we can -. Before you're able to finish that sentence, the lights begin to flicker and burn out. You hear soft footsteps coming toward you and you jump to your feet. You're ready to fight but, unfortunately, your vision (or lack thereof), causes you to be an easy target.
The footsteps get louder... and louder... and louder until, finally, something grabs you tight and holds your mouth shut. It leans over and whispers in your ear, "Wrong choice."
4
The captain seems somewhat put off by your request and replies, "Oh, we haven't had that spirit here since 1969!"
You're disappointed by this, but that doesn't mean that there's nothing left to drink. The captain slides you another glass, as more guests pour into the bar.
5
You enter a clean and classy dining room with white and cream colors neatly designed on each wall. The table is long and wide with expensive gold vases filled with white and red roses.
The table is set for about 20 people - each with porcelain plates, silk napkins, and shiny silverware. It seems as though they are preparing for a large feast... Ahhh, the divine smell of a large roast confirms your suspicions.
You follow your nose to see whether you may have the first taste when suddenly, *BANG*, the door slams behind you. You hear a faint voice coming from the door...
"...You can never leave..."
How odd, what should you do?
6
You walk into the hotel and are greeted by a dashing man with a bright and welcoming smile.
"Ah, you're here!" he says, as he elegantly strolls over to you. "We've been expecting you! Right this way, I'll show you around!"
He leads you down a grand hallway filled with paintings of famous people both old and new who have also visited the great Hotel California. He stops at the end of the hallway where 3 glossy wood doors stand tall before you.
He allows you to choose which room you'd like to visit first - the dining room, ballroom, or bar.
7
You blindly run as fast as your legs can carry you into the unknown. As you speed by, the walls seem to jump out and hit your body in every place possible. Sticks on the ground snap beneath your feet, but the low growl following you close keeps you going no matter the cost.
After what seems like running forever, you burst into the night sky just outside the hotel. You're free, you did it! You got out of the inescapable Hotel California.
You carry yourself with your head up high as you walk over to your car and prepare to leave this nightmare. You put your key in and start the car, but then you hear the strangest noise outside.
"Wrong Choice."
What? No, it can't be. You made it! You're safe!
"Wrong Choice."
No!
"Wrong Choice."
You wake up to a heavy feeling on your chest. You tripped on a stick while running so recklessly away. Your eyes slowly begin to adjust to the dark walls around you and then you see it.
"Wrong Choice," it repeats once more.
8
You've never been scared of the dark! Might as well see what we can find using our other senses. You trudge slowly down the dark path and feel the cold wet stones around you.
After walking for about 15 minutes, you feel a change in the wall. It almost feels like a gate of some sort, one which has a lock but is opened.
You feel around a bit more to see if there's anything else when suddenly, you hear a deep growl beside you.
What will you do?
9
You build up the courage to rise to your feet and fight for your honor! You move around a bit and as soon as someone walks in, you jump to your feet. Unfortunately, jumping to your feet while being tied to a chair only comes with humorous outcomes. You end up falling flat on your face and are humiliated.
Next time, take into consideration the circumstances before jumping to such wrong choices.
10
You stroll into the room as your senses become overwhelmed by the seemingly endless amount of party-goers and booze that lay before you. An elderly gentleman, whom others call "the captain", invites you over to take a seat at the bar. His charming, yet crooked smile puts you at ease.
"Sit back, relax, and have a drink!" he says.
11
You walk down the path with a red shining light, and it leads you far into the depths of a cave. As you continue to get closer to the light, it feels as though it's getting hotter and hotter although you're going further underground.
Eventually, you arrive at a fire pit lined with wood and leaves. You realize that this obviously isn't the right way, so you turn around and begin to drag yourself back. Suddenly, the rocks in front of you crumble and you find yourself trapped in the rubble.
The fire behind you begins to roar and grow, almost as though what once was welcoming is now in a rage. It continues to grow rapidly and the smoke and heat become too much for your body to take.
Before you let out your last clean breath, you see a message form in the smoke above you: "Wrong Choice".
12
You take a second glance at your old rusty car and take a step toward the beautiful girls. They whisk you up and tell you that every benefit comes at a price, and yours is your precious memories.
The last thing you can remember is a flash before your eyes of what your life used to be, the pain and sorrow but also all the good that came with it. But it's too late. You've made your decision and, unfortunately for you, it's the wrong choice.
13
Duh! It's probably the wind. Just give the door a good shake and we'll be on our way to exploring more of this fancy hotel.
Grab on here... hm. No luck. Must be jammed... Unless... No, they wouldn't trap me here. After all, it's "the place to be". Maybe I'll try something else.
14
Your mind buzzes with excitement at what wonders the hotel could bestow, but your gut continues to tug on you. Oh... all those drinks have made you a little woozy... something not ri-.
15
But all of a sudden... you start to hear voices... calling from far away.
"Don't go," they whisper. "We're programmed to receive..."
You snap out of your trance and look down to see even more drinks in front of you. Maybe these will help soothe your mind.
16
It's a hotel, you should be having fun not worrying! Screw the door, let's see what stuff they have lying around here.
You start to look around at the detail that the ballroom has in each of its belongings. The tables are a polished silver and the chairs are made of a sturdy wood. The bathrooms smell of lavender and have crystal embedded around the mirrors.
You stroll over to what seems to be a rusty stand in which live bands would perform in the evenings, but why is it rusty? It seems that this place is very much alive and thriving, so wouldn't this glorious ballroom be used often?
Your eyes find a plaque with the words "forgotten artist" written lightly on it. You reach out your hand to stroke it and - CREAK - a door opens up behind you.
Yikes, what should we do now?
17
You begin to play the machines and end up getting lost in the excitement of it all. Winning or losing, it doesn't matter because you always feel like you're winning more than you're losing.
The concept of time and money is lost to you. You indulge deeply in this pleasure of gambling, and Hotel California only encourages it.
You might be having the time of your life, but it was definitely the wrong choice.
18
You wake up in almost complete darkness. The only light is a small candle shining on what looks like long metal bars. You realize you're in some sort of prison cell...
A knotted claw pokes out through the bars, holding out a bottle from the bar. You reluctantly take it. Then, it hits you: you're stuck here now... with no chance of escape.
19
You follow your nose all the way to the back room which appears to be the kitchen. Your nose aggressively pushes you forward and you shove past the swinging doors to a brick room filled with foods of all kinds.
From mashed potatoes to steamed vegetables to pastas to beef, every food imaginable is laid in this single kitchen. There is only one problem, there's not a single person around.
You stand there curious of where everyone has gone, when suddenly you hear whispering voices through the thin walls. It appears that there's a secret door... Now you just have to find a way in...
20
I'm not sure what gave you the idea that a creature that lives in the dark can't see in the dark, but it seems to me that this was, in fact, a wrong choice.
21
You try to turn around but the little bit of metal begins to dig into your side. There is no way out now, moving both forward and back could cause a serious injury. You're officially stuck in a vent... not your best choice.
22
You run toward your car but something seems to pull you back, a feeling in your gut that tells you the only thing that will ever truly make you happy is to receive these great pleasures offered.
23
The captain looks at you in disbelief!
"You sure?" he asks.
You want to say no, but as more visitors spill into the bar and start sipping on those enticing beverages... you can't resist! You finally guzzle down a shot of... um... what is this again?
24
You begin to scream. "Hey! I'm kind of stuck in here... Mind giving me a hand?"
The voices abruptly stop and you can hear the quiet shuffle of feet on a carpeted floor. A secret door in the middle of the wall squeaks its way open and a few men with long hair and tired eyes look at you cautiously.
"Who are you?" they ask aggressively.
"Well, I'm just a passerby enjoying the beauty of the infamous Hotel California... but I seem to be trapped. Must be a mistake. Do you know of a way out?"
They glance at each other and node silently. "Yes, we do. Follow us this way."
They lead you down a long hallway toward a loud and chaotic sound. The closer you get, the more lights you can see flashing and the more people you can see strolling by. Ah, they seem to have led you to the hotel casino. "Well, you're out. Here's a couple dollars so that you can try out the machines. Have fun!"
25
I'm not sure how hiding would help your case... Maybe try a different option? This one is definitely the wrong choice.
26
You begin to press the bricks one by one in the large kitchen. Eventually, you build interesting tactics to reach the high bricks and press as many as you possibly can in a short amount of time.
You resort to pressing with your feet and hands at the same time (with the occasional use of a tongue), but it all ends up with no results. Wasting your time trying to reenact a movie was probably the wrong choice.
27
This place is gorgeous! So what you're trapped? Rather be trapped here than anywhere else. Let's enjoy our time here, stay a little while. The doors slowly open and the man who greeted you before smiles once again and reaches out his hand.
"Come with me," he says. "I have a perfect place for you to go."
You follow him back down the hallway and are led to a large group of people who are laughing and partying. You join in and lose yourself in the fun of it all. But little do you know how long you stay.
You continue to live among those who also accepted their fate, and you die in the infamous Hotel California. You lived the rest of your days unaware of how much you were missed, how far away from being alive you truly were.
You made the wrong choice.
28
You wake up in almost complete darkness. The only light is a small candle shining on what looks like long metal bars. You realize you're in some sort of prison cell...
A knotted claw pokes out through the bars, holding out a bottle from the bar. You reluctantly take it. Then, it hits you: you're stuck here now... with no chance of escape.
29
You try to keep your mind straight, but it grows harder and harder to even stand up straight as just seconds go by. You glance across the bar and see the captain, except now, he doesn't look like the same welcoming figure you met when you first entered the bar.
His eyes glow red, as his teeth become increasingly rotten... You turn to others for help, but their alcohol-tainted breaths only make you feel more queasy.
30
You grab one of the fancy vases and throw it with all your strength at one of the large windows. Water and petals splash everywhere, but nothing but a minor scratch is left on the window.
You reach for the next best thing to throw, a heavy wood chair. Unfortunately, its weight is hard to handle and your throw is even less successful than the first time.
Seems that this window has bested you. Throwing things was probably a wrong choice.
31
You walk into an extravagant ballroom lined with lavish decorations of gold and silver. The floor is made of dark wood, smoothed over so that each footstep that meets it glides along effortlessly.
When you glance up, a glistening chandelier catches your eye as it stretches to the corners of the - *BANG*. The door seems to have shut abruptly behind you and you hear a faint voice.
"...You can never leave..."
Hm, can't be a big deal, right? Well, what should you do?
32
You try to keep going, but your shirt doesn't seem to want to let go of the piece of metal. The loose piece ends up being pulled just a little too far and the vent breaks.
You end up in a room filled with people in large cloaks. They quickly place a bag on your head and tie you to a chair.
You're really trapped this time, what do you do?
33
You look around and after what feels like decades, you find a vent in the very back corner. It's small, but you believe that you will be able to slide your way through if you really try.
You pull the bars off and slip inside. You're almost all the way in when suddenly your shirt catches on a loose piece of metal in the vent.
You're stuck, what do you do?
34
You slowly creep into the door and look around at the dimly lit cave walls. You can hear the patter of rat feet scurrying on the ground and it reeks of a thick moldy smell.
After walking for about 15 minutes, you reach a fork in the road. There are two possible paths, one on the left and another on the right. The left has a glowing red light that shines out of it, the other is pitch black.
Which path should you take?
