💭Nikita: Well, Roman, I guess you're dead. I'll have to go back to "Nikita". None of us can run from reality... not even me.
Li traced the investigator's rental car back to where it originated... but the company didn't give any information on the investigator.
The rental car company made one mistake and mentioned which car was exchanged, which ultimately traced back to an apartment unit owned by Carl Bane, which could be an alias. I can assume this is the investigator's apartment.
Once Li investigated the apartment unit, he mentioned that there was an explosive planted underneath the doormat. So, Carl Bane, or whatever his name is... is as good as dead. Someone else is trying to kill this investigator.
The assassin he feared probably set the explosive... So, I can expect the assassin, Antonio, to be in San Diego because he will leave Los Angeles... Antonio thinks his job is done by planting the explosive that will trigger when the investigator goes to his apartment.
Because Roman will be no more, for this mission I'll need a cadaver. Li can bring this to me at the restaurant. Los Carnales has a backdoor that we can use.
Nitroglycerin is easy to make. I'll create that before I leave for Carnales. That can easily kill Yoro and Antonio. But his men will storm the restaurant... Hmm...
I'll need a deterant, such as fire... I'll also need a bulletproof vest.
Using an explosive might link the apartment bombing with the Carnales bombing... Perfect, this could confuse investigators... because in reality, these events have nothing to do with each other... other than this private investigator.
An obvious starting point for the police will be to find Carl Bane... and I'll be long gone by the time they consider other suspects.

Now I just need to make sure I survive at Los Carnales. The easiest way to hide form a criminal organization is... to die. So that's exactly what I'll do.
First, I'll enter the restroom, at which point Yoro might see me and wonder what I'm doing at Carnales... So, he will call some men, so I'll need to be very quick.
The manager at Los Carnales told me the bathroom had hand sanitizer, a class I flammable liquid, which has a flashpoint of less than 100 degrees, so I can safely touch burning hand sanitizer. Once I create the cold flames, I'll open the bathroom door and throw the nitroglycerin at Yoro...
Immediately as the explosion occurs, I'll close the restroom door and lay on the ground in the non-lethal flames. Hopefully, the cartel responds quickly enough before the fire actually burns me...
Before the cartel men enter the bathroom and spray me with bullets... I'll place my head slightly below the sink, so they hit my body where I'll have bulletproof armor.
The cartel's men won't stay long because of the flames. When they run out of the building, I'll get up and start another flame from gasoline this time. Then I'll brink the corpse that Li brought. I'll use the door in the back to transfer the cadaver and then escape with Li.
This plan might be on my list of top 10 most intricate schemes... Haha, how exciting, this will all end in a bang.

Mitch: Emma, you have to delete any messages that might uncover the truth about us and Rich... If they know you were with both of us... it'll be bad, Emma.
Emma: Mitch, we didn't even do anything, and how do we know Rich didn't actually leave the country like he said...
Mitch: Are you kidding me, those messages were so sketchy, it seemed like it wasn't even him... You showed me, and that didn't sound like Rich... at all. Something bad happened.
Emma: I can't think straight... I just hope he's okay, I want him to come back. Mitch... maybe we should tell people the truth, it might get out anyway.

Emma: Oh, god, okay, I'll delete the messages... but can police retrieve deleted messages? I think they can.
Mitch: Just don't give them a reason to try to restore the messages, delete all traces of Rich. Trust me, it's for the better.

Rich: Look man, if it's money you want, my parents will give you money! They have money! Please! I'll do anything!
*Dao hears a buzzing noise from Rich's pocket*
Dao: Give me your cell phone, Rich.
*Rich hands Dao his cell phone*
Dao: Emma Windale... who's she?
Rich: She's my girlfriend, please don't hurt her, she didn't do anything, she knows nothing.
Dao: If I find out she knows something... it's not going to be good, Rich...
Rich: Trust me, she doesn't know Connor, she doesn't take the drugs either.
Dao: Leave the country, Rich, and never return or I'll kill your family and Emma... and you.
Rich: I will! I'll leave! Just tell me where, I'll be gone! I promise!
Dao: Alright, I have a passport and other things you'll need. They are in the trunk, go get them.
*Rich turns around and starts walking to the vehicle*

Well, if I say nothing, Rich might be reported missing earlier... But, I'm not sure what to say. Maybe I'll text her, "I'm leaving the country"... I don't know... damnit.

*April hears the doorbell ring*
April: That must be Mark, where has he been, he's so late.
Antonio: Hi April, I'm Detective Martinez, and I'd like to ask you a few questions if that's okay.
April: Sure, but could you please show me your badge? I was told to always take precautions.
Antonio: Yes, yes, yes. Of course, Mrs. Rivera. Have a look.
*Antonio produces a badge with the title "Detective" on it*
April: Okay, come in, have a seat.
Antonio: This might be hard to hear, but, I know you've hired Jonathan... but, what I'm worried about is his connection to Mark Rivera's disappearance.
April: ...What...? Where is Mark? Can I call him, please?
Antonio: Jonathan Steel isn't the man you thought he was. I've been investigating him since he's arrived months ago... He's been making very strange trips to the desert, and now I believe he's taken your husband.
April: What??? I can't believe it, does he want more money? I don't understand.
Antonio: April, he's a dangerous man, and he's been pretending to investigate your son's disappearance... All he wanted was to rob you of your money, and I'm guessing if you know where Jonathan will be, or where he lives, that would be fantastic because he's been hiding from us since the start.
April: Yes, of course. I know a lot about him, I can tell you everything.
Antonio: I'm so sorry, April. Private investigators can never be trusted... Many criminals hide in plain sight by assuming an investigator's identity.
25 Minutes Later
April: That's pretty much all I know about Jonathan... Please, please find Mark, I can't lose both my son and my husband.
Antonio: That's a lot of information... Thank you very much, April. I'll be on my way now, but wait, one more thing...
*After a small pause*
April: Yes?
*Antonio shoots April dead*
