I've got my rental car; I hope no cartel members saw me driving to the car rental.
It's 3:38 PM, I should get going so I'm not late. April shared her location with me earlier, smart. Now I can make sure she goes to the right place.
The traffic is pretty bad right now... It might take me a little longer than I thought. April still hasn't left, so she will be late as well. I guess that works out.
The air conditioning barely even works in this car, what a ripoff, a rental car with no air conditioning. I guess I'll open the windows.
Never mind, I shouldn't open the windows. I need to stay as hidden as possible. Maybe I'm sweating for a different reason... What am I going to tell April? Her husband is gone too. I have to tell her... and I think I need to tell her about the Sinaloa too.
This case has evolved into something so much more sinister... I just can't believe how far this has gone; this is like no case I've ever investigated.
April still hasn't left the house? She's going to be super late; I told her 4:00 PM. Maybe I'll give her a call.
Wait a second... She would probably call me if she was going to be this late. This is unlike April...
It's time to meet April at Tiempo Coffee...
So Many Possibilities
- 🔍Did April forget to bring her phone?
- 🔍Is it possible Antonio went to the Rivera residence?
- 🔍Maybe the application is broken.
- 🔍Did April forget about the meeting we set up?
- 🔍Maybe April lost track of time?
- 🔍Maybe she's waiting for Mark to get home?
- 🔍What does my intuition say?
- 🔍Maybe I should leave without her...

It's hard to say, but one would think she would bring her phone with her if she took the time to share her location earlier. It seemed like she wanted to be prepared and organized... hmm, but maybe she did forget? I'm not sure...
3
Maybe Antonio is holding her hostage... or worse. But why would Antonio do this? April has nothing to do with the cartel...
4
This would be strange but it's not unheard of for tracking applications to have issues like this.
5
I just told her about two hours ago to meet me here. She couldn't have forgotten, right?
6
Again, unlikely, but I guess it's possible. I'm pretty sure I made it apparent that this meeting was very important.
7
Or she could be trying to call him... I didn't think of that situation, but she'd probably call me to tell me Mark is missing, because she'd likely call him right after I called her about the meeting. That gives him a couple hours to eventually respond or call back. So, at this point, if he didn't return any calls, April probably would have been worried and probably would have called me to tell me that Mark wasn't returning any calls or texts for over two hours... on a Sunday.
8
There are many possibilities here, I could be overthinking this. But I'm getting a weird feeling about April's location not moving.
9
I suppose I could leave now... I could drive away now and go back to London. It just doesn't seem like the right thing to do. I know so much; I have to tell April... I can't hold these secrets from her.
Conclude Investigation
1. What likely happened with April?
- She forgot her phone at home
- Antonio is holding her hostage
- Antonio killed April
- April lost track of time
- April forgot about the meeting
- April is waiting for Mark Rivera
2. What should I do?
- Call the police
- Call April
- Go to Tiempo Coffee
- Think of an entirely new plan
- Get out of Los Angeles now
I think the Sinaloa captured April, she's probably gone. Antonio probably extracted information about me from her. This is bad...
I'll send in an anonymous tip about Antonio to the LAPD, there's no reason to hide anything now... My clients are dead. I just need to save myself at this point.
If I don't fight back, I think I'll lose. What can I do... besides just wait for the police to capture Antonio... if they even will capture him.
Well, I know the Triad and the Sinaloa had some large disagreement after the meeting they had at Lukshon.
I have to fight fire with fire... I'll try to set the Triad against the cartel. I'll need to think of a genius plan and I have limited time.

Johnathan: Connor, it's Johnathan, I need to talk with your boss.
Connor: Well, that's a horrible idea...
Johnathan: I don't think you understand the magnitude of the situation.
Connor: Dude, Dao is bad news, trust me.
Johnathan: No, not Dao, the leader of the whole Triad, the main boss.
Connor: What? You want to chat with Roman? Dude, there's no way, he's probably not even here. I bet he's in Hong Kong.
Johnathan: Nope, I saw him at Lukshon the other day. He's in Los Angeles.
Connor: Okay... So, I guess there's a lot going on business-wise, otherwise, he wouldn't be here. Maybe there are complications with the cartel.
Johnathan: Where can I find Roman?
Connor: I just said I didn't even know he was in town...
Johnathan: Connor... give me something.
Connor: Okay, well, here's something. I know he has a favorite Russian cafe here in town, it's just called "The Russian Cafe". He'll probably go there at some point. Maybe...
Johnathan: Alright, thanks.
I guess I can just wait at the Russian cafe. But if Roman never shows up... I don't know, I'll need to run away, but I bet the cartel will eventually find me.
At this point, I just need some luck. I'm pretty much out of options now.
