Incoming Call from Mark
Jonathan, it's over, the investigation is over. It's too dangerous, there's...
*Sound of a gunshot*
*Antonio picks up the phone*
Jonathan... So that's your name... It's not so wise to spy on the cartel, it costs lives...
My boss wants to bargain with you... Come to La Mexicana... or else there will be consequences. "En este mundo matraca de morir nadie se escapa..."
Hasta la proxima... Jonathan.
*Antonio hangs up the phone*
The sound of Mark's body hitting the ground keeps replaying in my ears...
My hands are trembling, and I can picture the violent gunshot immediately ending Mark's life.
Mark is dead, Antonio knows who I am, the Triad and the Sinaloa are mixed up together... This is over.
This case is finished, I need to leave, and I need to tell April immediately... What am I going to tell her... poor April. This is unreal...
This is the most real fear I've felt in a long time. I need to think quickly!
Think Quickly
- 🔍I'll need to call April.
- 🔍I could go to the airport and leave now!
- 🔍I need to call police immediately!
- 🔍Maybe I should go to La Mexicana...
- 🔍Why did Antonio kill Mark when he was on the phone?
Details
2
I need to tell her about the situation but I don't know how many details I should give... inducing panic would be a bad idea at the moment. This is a very difficult situation...
3
Maybe it's time I go back to London. Things got very dangerous very quickly. There is a direct flight to London from Los Angeles, but could I be followed, the cartel could be expecting me to board a plane and run, but I'm not certain.
4
There probably aren't any drawbacks to this option... unless the cartel has police working for them too.
5
Antonio said the boss wants to meet with me. Can I honestly hide from the cartel? They have found me before, they might find me again.
6
Antonio must have found out that Mark didn't "take care" of me... He then probably told Mark to call me. That's why Mark told me to stop investigating... Mark must have been ordered by Antonio to call me and tell me to stop investigating... But then as Mark called me and said my name, Antonio shot him... Antonio just wanted to know my name. Damn, he's smart.
7
Antonio and Mark Rivera went to Lukshon yesterday. I'm guessing the meeting was for some business deal with the Triad. The Triad doesn't know about Mark's death, and they probably don't know that Antonio is an assassin.
8
Mark texted me over one month ago, telling me the Sinaloa figured out that I was investigating them. They told Mark to take care of me...
9
So, clearly, he planned all of this otherwise he would have driven back to San Diego days ago...
10
If Antonio just killed Mark, one day after the Triad meeting, then Mark must have not been a crucial piece of the business meeting...
11
Maybe Antonio reports directly to the boss of the cartel, he did imply that one the phone... I'm not sure, but he definitely carries out very important work for them.
12
With all that's going on, and my life being on the line, it's hard to tell what the best move is. Maybe I should drop this case for good, maybe it's just too much...

Johnathan: April, you need to meet me, we need to talk about something.
