Bracelet
- The stone token is magnetically attracted to this bracelet.
-
There are 2 charms on this bracelet, a lantern and a bird in a cage.
- Canaries in cages were often used by miners to warn of toxic gas leaks. As long as the bird was awake and alive, the miners were safe. If it passed out or died, they had better high-tail it out of there.
Exhibit Research
- On the petition, David Griffith's entry stands out bold and strong among the others.
Journal Entries
- Starting with the entry of 3, August 1873 on page 12, we get coded messages.

Letter from Museum Curator
- In this letter, the curator speaks of an apparition in her museum apparently trying to steal an item. She took a photo of him, which she included in our package. She has also included the item.
-
She believes the ghost to be that of David Griffith.
- She says an older version. But his body was never found, and he was only presumed dead. There is no proof he died and wouldn't have aged to look like he does in the photo.
Letter from Museum Director
-
This letter introduces the included journal.
- We are directed on how to access our next assignment on the Cooper Heritage Center website.
Miner's Postcard
- This was the only item left on the curator's desk after "something" swept everything else to the floor.
-
There is an underlying coded message in this postcard.
- One must shine the black light from Episode 1 on the symbols in order to see them better.
-
Seeing as we have not cracked the secret alphabet yet, we must add this to our list of things to follow up on later in the season.
Mining Company Memo
- There is a cipher at the top of the first page and the bottom of the last page.
-
Seeing as we are dealing with letters, and we had to use a typewriter model in Episode 1, we will be doing the same in this episode.
- Googling 1959 Galaxie typewriter produces the model Smith Corona Galaxie.
-
To decode the messages, pay particular attention to the punctuation preceding the phrases.
- Looking at the typewriter keyboard, note that " = 2, ' = 8, and - = 6.
- These are the number of shifts for the letters following those symbols.
- You will shift backward in the alphabet.
-
Once decoded, the messages read:
- "DO NOT DISTRIBUTE BEYOND THIS OFFICE"
- "NO STOPPAGE. LVL NEGOTIATIONS WILL CONTINUE."
Newspaper Clipping
-
Are the authors of the articles related?
- Both have the surname Sutherland.
-
Is Pennywise haunting this town? lol
- A man states he saw something that could not be. His neighbor did not see the monster, only Fuller.
- Is the evil taking on the form of people's fears?
- Could the evil have made the curator's neighbor see something that wasn't there, making him walk out in front of her car?
-
"A slow, dark flood pools at our waist."
- The evil has come and is growing. This town is fucked.
Stone Token
- The curator sent this to us for safekeeping. The apparition she had been seeing inside her museum has been attempting to steal it.
- It is magnetically attracted to the accompanying bracelet.
